Saying the Wrong Thing is Like Opening Pandora's Box

Have you ever said something to a prospect you completely regret and the next thing you know you're concentrating on what you did wrong and the rest of the conversation goes Right...Down...the Drain?

There's no doubt that saying the wrong thing to your prospect can be like opening Pandora's box. And, you wouldn't want to do that, unless you like wasting your time. I know I wouldn't.

A few days ago, I did just that and instead of hanging up, I stuck it out. BIG MISTAKE!!!!

Here's kind of how it went...

Me: Hey Bob, this is Jerome, recently you visited my website and requested information about a home business. Did I catch you at a good time?

Bob: What do you want?

Me: Bob, you requested information about working from home.

Bob: Yeah, so what? Why are you calling me?

Me: Uhhh, do you want to know more about working from home. I can send you some material.

I'm going to stop there, as that's where I went wrong. I kept choking on my words and no matter what I would say, I kept thinking about what I said in the past and what I should've said.

I failed to stay in control and show this person they most definitely did not qualify for my time nor would I want them in my business.

Here's what I should've said...

Me: Yeah, Bob, you requested some information from website about a home business. Bob, before we proceed, are you interested in a home business so that we don't waste my time?

If I would've said that instead, I would have been the one in control and show this person, I'm serious about my business.

Believe me, when I made that mistake, it was like when I first started...no control, desperate, you name it.

After I acknowledged where I went wrong, I realized I didn't want to go there again. Besides, it wasn't helping me any with growing my business.

Becareful the next time you're talking to your prospect and be sure you don't say the wrong thing. If you do, immediately get back in control of the conversation. Then you'll be able to proceed with the interview.

Antiquated Recruiting Techniques are for Losers

No offense to those who enjoy recruiting via the old methods like, bugging family and friends, constantly hounding them to join your business. If it has worked for you, Congrats and you won't have to read one more word of this post.

However, if you're like some of us, then you've realized the antiquated techniques just don't work like they use to and it's TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!

For majority of my business, I was running under that model. I was the "I need to get this person signed up or I'll never make it" or "If I can just get one of my relatives to join me, I'll be set." Come on!!! It just wasn't working for me and I wasn't having fun. One good thing about this technique is I was pushing the envelope. I was going to a place I had never gone before and that was, "Family and friends, I desperately need your help." It was a good experience and that's all it was.

So, I began the journey of searching for ways to become a recruiting magnet and that's when I discovered Mike Dillard. Mike showed me that being a leader in this industry is rare and if you want to make it, you'll need to become a master leader.

I can honestly say, thank you Mike. It's helped me open my eyes to a whole new world. Ever since then, I've been working on increasing my value. I've read books upon books, practiced implementing the ones that worked and even created some of my own like my Building Your M.L.M Business System.

But, when it came to recruiting, I only had what my upline provided me, which I'm extremely grateful for. But, I realized I was missing something and I needed more.

Now, over time, I've tested numerous techniques, and some I still use today and for the others that weren't working I just said to hell with them.

That's when I realized I needed to look back to my friend Mike Dillard. At the time, he was developing Black Belt Recruiting with Mark Wieser, the master of MLM recruiting. Shortly after the release of the course, I snagged it up and couldn't believe how POWERFUL this course was. It reminded me that I needed to be the one in charge leading my prospects through the process and I was the one people would want to have as a leader. I was becoming MAGNETIC!!!

This course was certainly not focusing on the antiquated recruiting techniques, it teaches you how to position yourself as the leader. There were some awesome examples of what you are not supposed to do and they were the ones I was doing. Mike Dillard and Mark Wieser knew something. They knew how to handle recruiting the right way so that we can become a recruiting magnet and share that same philosophy with the people we recruited by using the power of leverage.

So, if you've realized that the antiquated recruiting techniques are no longer for you, then you OWE it to yourself to check out Black Belt Recruting. In fact, Mike Dillard and Mark Wieser where so generous to provide us with some killer FREE videos about recruiting, you'll not want to miss.

Do yourself favor, if you haven't already, learn to become a recruiting magnet.

Until next time.

F.E.A.R, Is it Holding You Back

You've heard what FEAR stands for, right?

If you haven't, it stands for False Evidence Appearing Real. There are other acronyms too, but this one says it all. It says, we are afraid of something that has not happened. Artemis Limpert once said, when we imagine fear, we are actually using our imagination against ourselves.

Now, why in the world would we be doing this if we knew that it would be holding us back. Well, there are many reasons but from my personal experience, this one really hits home for me.

And, that is the 'what ifs'. So...

what if I have too much on my plate, will I fail?
what if I can't train my partners to become leaders?
what if I can't sign up a customer?
what if I become successful, what will I do?

When I use to concentrate on the 'what ifs' I was using my imagination against myself because none of these had happened yet. But, you could bet I would eventually experience them if that's what I was constantly concentrating on.

Now, what do you do if you are faced with FEAR... Fear of failure, fear of success, or fear of the unknown. Well, trying using the acronym I created to nip FEAR in the bud. I call it S.T.A.R.T. and it stands for...

Stop
Take a break
Acknowledge
Realize it's not real
Take control

Stop means don't do one more thing to bring this fear on.
Take a break from what you are doing to switch your concentration off the fear subject.
Acknowledge why you are currently experiencing this feeling.
Realize it's not real says it all in of itself.
Take control means you are in control of what it is to become and don't let fear be one of them.

The next time you are starting to feel FEAR enter in your life and business, then use S.T.A.R.T. When you do this, you'll find yourself concentrating more on the things that you do want and doing the necessary things to bring them to a reality.

Don't let FEAR hold you back.

How Gift Baskets Can Grow Your Business

Would you like to grow your business with little effort as possible?

Well, with the holiday's nearing, this is an ideal time to take advantage of drawing in new customers. With so many gift ideas out there today, is your gift helping your business grow?

If it isn't, then you most definitely need to consider gift baskets.

Gift baskets are such an easy way of promoting your product. Just choose a theme from your company's product and assemble them in a nice basket. And, if you're not into gift baskets, then you can get someone to assemble them for you so that your time will be freed up to work on other areas of your business.

Now, back to the theme. Let's say your company offers skin care products. Well, your theme can be a "Spa Care Package". Just grab a few of the skin care products, a bottle of water, a gift certificate for a massage and you got your basket ready to go.

Not only will your basket be the ideal gift but, it will also get your business the exposure it needs for very little effort.
