We all know that a goal is a result towards which your effort is directed. But, do you know how important goals really are to your success?
This will be one of the most important posts that you will read in order to achieve mass amounts of success.
If you've ever worked for someone or a company, then you are probably very familiar with goals and their purpose for being set. But, have you ever created and set your own goal? If you have, congratulations. If not, then creating goals can bring you success.
Let me explain why...
The most important aspect about a goal is it must be very clear and as specific as possible. Also, remember the purpose of your goal is you want success. Oh yeah, you will get success once your goal is reached.
Breakdown your goal into the following different components:
1. Objective
2. How
3. Date
Let me give you an example that best illustrates this.
For example, I've had this dream of mine to travel into outer-space with NASA astronauts before my 40th birthday.
My goal should read as such, "I will travel to outer-space with the NASA program by 12-31-2015."
Travel to outer-space is my objective...with the NASA program is the how...by 12-31-2015 is the date.
Also, take notice of the words I chose, like "will". I didn't use "dream," "wish," or "would like to." I used "will" because when you use the word "will", it seems more true to your subconscious mind.
By setting a goal as specific as possible and by setting a date which you feel is attainable, you instantly set yourself up for success.
Now, just because you wrote it down doesn't mean that you never look at it. Because that will get you no where. You must refer to this goal very often and plan to meet that goal by doing something everyday.
Did you get that last part?
That's the biggest secret to creating goals to maximize your success. "Plan to meet that goal by doing something everyday." Everyday you do something and it doesn't matter how much you do, just as long as you are doing something to meet that goal.
Try writing out a goal and refer to it often. I guarantee you, if you do what I have shared with you, you will see yourself moving forward in your career.
Dedicated to your success.
