Marketing for Geniuses

After reading a recent post by Seth Godin, "Personal branding in the age of Google," a certain person came to mind, Albert Einstein. As you know Albert Einstein was a pure genius of science. And, when it comes to marketing geniuses, Seth Godin is one of those people. In Seth's article, he uncovers some of the not-so-obvious steps about marketing yourself and the things you should be thinking about when marketing.

When creating you're marketing efforts, are your efforts in-line with who you are stating to be? For example, you're marketing your business opportunity out to serious entrepreneurs, the last thing you want out on the internet (A.K.A. dirt on you) is you blabbing about how you hate the industry which you are advertising on. Talking about setting yourself up for failure. Duh!!

That's one thing you do NOT want to do.

I know that may sound ridiculous, but just as Seth Godin discovered, sometimes people don't realize the obvious and how what they are doing today may affect where they want to be tomorrow.

So, how do you avoid this? F.I.V.E. words...

"Live Up to Your Name"

Since we are all serious entrepreneurs, the next time your blogging, submitting articles, hanging out in forums, be ABSOLUTELY certain you aren't contradicting who you are intending to be. Otherwise, it's instant disaster.

The MLM Cure to Your Sick Business

How many times have you been sick and no matter what type of medicine you take over the counter, it just doesn't work? So, what's the next best thing to do? Get yourself to a doctor or clinic and have them take a look at you!

Going to a doctor or visiting a specialist, reassures us that if anyone can get us better, they could.

If we were to run our business like we take care of a common cold, perhaps maybe our business would not need a cure. But, let's face it, sometimes no matter what we do, we are desperately seeking a cure. The cure that will correct our major issues encountered in a business. Let's discover what some of the MLM cures can do for your business.

The Multi-Level Marketing Cure to Your Sick Business

Don't you wish you could go to your local business store and right there on the top shelf is, "Marketing Cure - Advanced Formula"? Ok, I know that sounds a little crazy. But, let's face it, suffering small businesses are not willing to resolve problems by themselves. They are looking for someone else to fix their problems, which brings me to the top the seven MLM cures for your sick business...

Cure #1
Get an expert to help (seek advice from someone that has experienced your problem) - Using leverage has been one of the top secrets, millionaires have been using for over 100 years. So, why not do the same. When you're having trouble in one particular area of your business, find an expert that has the experience in getting results. Then, offer to share services with this person or compensate them if they are not interested in sharing services. You'll be amazed by what this approach will do for you.

Cure #2
Analyze your current situation (what's working, what's not) - Do more of what's working and stop what's not working. The best method of knowing what's working and what's not, is to keep track. Keep track of everything you do. Especially when it comes to marketing and advertising your business, especially the quality of the customer service you provide. It's important that you are always in an analyzing state, all successful business people do this.

Cure #3
Educate your expectations (look at your marketing plan and determine if you what you have is achievable) - Are your goals SMART goals? If they aren't, consider either toning down your goals or do what successful business people do, "Seek out an expert in a particular area you are weak at and have them be a part of your team." That's a true win-win situation.

Cure #4
Change your approach (come up with an ingenious way of promoting your product and your business). While you are running your business, you may discover some areas or approaches are not working for you, in that case it's time to change it up. Just because you first started with that method doesn't mean you are bound to that. You must be evolving. In fact, there are many forms of marketing your business to running business. But, what's important is that you find a model that works for you and allows you to be successful.

Cure #5
Advertise the business like you're the CEO of the company (this will help you get out of the frame of mind as treating this as your JOB) - It's your business that needs help, no one else! So, start acting like a CEO and get your business under control. You can do that by following some of these cures we are covering here in the post. But, by no means does it mean to stop there. Always search for ways to improve. Improving and evolving is what entrepreneurs do. While you are improving, start off with thinking with good intentions like, you'll be receiving bundles and bundles of endless business. Now that sounds like a CEO!

Cure #6
Build a sustainable network of business partners (teach your current and future team members how they can plug into a system they can easily duplicate) - Everyday while working and not working, you should be searching for your perfect business partner. When you find that person, you mentor them and guide them through the process of being successful so that they can do the samething one day. This way it will be a win-win, but can potentially be an infinite win. Can you imagine that?

Cure #7
Become a leader (when you rise up as leader, you put yourself in a state of attraction where 'like attracts like') - This one, as you know, is paramont for any business. Having troubles with your business? It's time to step up and be the leader. Being a leader is someone who sets an examples for how the business should be ran and turning current and future business partners into leaders as well.

Your thoughts

What are some cures you found that made a difference in your business? Have you ever used any of the ideas discussed above? If so, which one(s) do find gives you the best results?

How Gift Baskets Can Grow Your Business

Would you like to grow your business with little effort as possible?

Well, with the holiday's nearing, this is an ideal time to take advantage of drawing in new customers. With so many gift ideas out there today, is your gift helping your business grow?

If it isn't, then you most definitely need to consider gift baskets.

Gift baskets are such an easy way of promoting your product. Just choose a theme from your company's product and assemble them in a nice basket. And, if you're not into gift baskets, then you can get someone to assemble them for you so that your time will be freed up to work on other areas of your business.

Now, back to the theme. Let's say your company offers skin care products. Well, your theme can be a "Spa Care Package". Just grab a few of the skin care products, a bottle of water, a gift certificate for a massage and you got your basket ready to go.

Not only will your basket be the ideal gift but, it will also get your business the exposure it needs for very little effort.

How To Generate Traffic and Make Your Upline Jealous

Wouldn't you like to know what it would take to generate an endless stream of traffic to your business opportunity site?

What if I told you there was a way?

Would you be interested?

I would hope so, because I know I would be.

And, it all starts with one of the most powerful internet marketing tools. I think you've heard of them before, Google, Google Adwords.

No matter what anyone will tell you, Google Adwords will drive so much traffic to your website, if you know what you're doing. If you want immediate results, then this is the way for you.

Now the other methods work, like SEO, but they take time. They don't happen overnight.

So, if you don't have time and want quick results, Google Adwords is definitely the way to go.

Now, if you're like most entrepreneurs that get involved in Google Adwords without an ounce of know how, they will soon find themselves deep in debt.

There are two major components you need in order to avoid being classified into the failures of Google's Adwords.

1. Learn how to write good, quality ads that give you results. The best book to get you started is Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords (Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords) here at Amazon. It will teach you the dos and the don'ts of Google Adwords. This is critical to your success as the concepts shared in this book will get you the results you will be looking for rather than the old trial error routine.

2. Capitalize on your traffic. Intend to turn your traffic into either customers or business partners. And how you do that is by providing free upfront material for the person to review. Then it's hook, line, and sinker.

If you can follow these two components and by no means are they the only important pieces of information, but they are major pieces to the puzzle when it comes to doing it right, you'll be on the track to success.

You will be so far ahead of everyone else, they won't even see the smoke that follows behind you.

When you're generating traffic to your site and turning those people into customers or business partners, everyone, including your upline, will be wondering what you are doing and how they can get involved.

Now that's being magnetic!!!

If you haven't tried Google Adwords yet, don't until you have followed the two components mentioned in this article.

Is the Social Marketing Arena for You

With all of the social marketing sites out there today, how do you know which one is the best one to use?

Do you just try them all or do you only do one?

Yes and No. But more No than anything. Let me explain.

In your business, you want to be able to create some interest in you and your business. So, in order to do that you have to start building a name for yourself. One of the best ways to do that is using the social marketing arena. But, I do not recommend that you go and create 10 different accounts on various social marketing sites. Can you imagine how much effort it would require to maintain 10 different social marketing profiles? Forget it, it's not worth your time. And time is the most precious element in your business. So, don't go wasting it.

No thank you!

Because you want to provide quality, this is why you should only concentrate on a few. Use social marketing sites like Twitter.com where you can follow others and be followed. For my Twitter account, JeromeRatliff, I follow a lot of people. People I find interesting, want to hear more about them and what they are doing. But, what's more important is that people follow me. Why? Because I want my content to come to me.

There are two areas to my postings. I bring a lot of focus on my normal life (things everybody does everyday) and the things I do to grow my business.

When I do this, people are drawn in like a magnet. Kind of the same for the people that I follow.

When you draw the people in, then you can begin building rapport. Then after you build rapport, you establish a way people can either buy into your service or you and your business. Now, don't be pushy because no one likes a pushy salesperson. Just be yourself and let the power of attraction marketing take over.

So, is the social marketing arena for you? It should be. Start today by visiting me on Twitter, my profile name is JeromeRatliff and I will see you on the inside.

Who Cares About Marketing!

About a few years ago, I was speaking with a fellow network marketer and he mentioned to me, "My product does all the work for me, it sells itself. Who cares about marketing?" I couldn't believe he had said this and a part of me was curious because he's seemed to be doing pretty well and successful. Also, he's been with the same network marketing company for sometime now. I had to find out.

Well, I dug deeper and asked him, "How can you possibly be successful just by your product selling itself. That's impossible." That's when he went into great detail why he said that and believes that. He didn't mean that he had a product and it had done all the work for him making him loads of money. No! But, his product was selling itself because he had a system.

Also, he said he didn't care about marketing. But in fact, he refers his entire system as marketing. He figures out how to build systems and integrates them, for all areas of his company. For him, his system is the secret to his success.

So, a year goes by and decided to give him a call to see how his business was doing. And to my surprise he said, "I've improved by business by 50%." Now, there was a part of me, that I would hate to admit, that was hoping he was going to tell me had thrown in the towel. But, I was wrong.

Why was his business doing better than ever? His system was running his business. It taught him how to market, when to market, and how to measure the performance of his marketing efforts. He even provided his system to all of his downline.

When had done that, he found himself having more time to concentrate on other areas of his business. His business was practically running on autopilot.

That's all I needed to hear. I was convinced. Since then I've built my own system and have supplied to many network marketers for free just to see if what I had built would work just like it had for me. And you know what, it did!

This is when I decided to release "Building Your M.L.M Business System" to the public. If you would like to find out more about it visit http://MaverickBusinessBuilders.com. Here is the video I created for it.

Marketing Your Business

Have you ever thought how you plan on marketing your business?

Marketing your business can be one of the most difficult tasks for keeping your business alive. But, with the proper education and testing, you can begin to see your business flourish.

Read anything and everything about marketing. By educating yourself in the subject of marketing, you increase your knowledge and your awareness of your customers. Each of your customers will be different, but learning about your customer's likes and dislikes will greatly impact your marketing efforts. Cater your marketing efforts around your customer's likes. This way you will attract customers to you.

For example, you are in the health and wellness industry and determine that you are not gaining new customers. So, you perform some analysis to determine who buys health related products, how much they spend, what do they buy, and how often. From your analysis you determine the age group buying the products are between 35-55 yrs old. You also determine that vitamin c is the most common purchased supplement at an average cost of $15/bottle for one months supply and bought every month. With this information you can begin to develop your marketing plan. Your marketing plan may consist of something like this:
  1. Place online or in print classified ads in the health or fitness section. (These two sections will accommodate the age group determined in your analysis.)
  2. Your ad should read "Benefits of Taking Vitamin C Supplements - Request your Free copy".
  3. Provide your URL to your website and have them complete an opt-in form to receive their Free copy.
  4. Once they logged into your website, they will be directed to the report "Benefits of Taking Vitamin C Supplements".
  5. Provide them with all of the benefits of vitamin c. Use your company's literature to educate them on this subject.
  6. Within your website, create links to purchase the product and offer special one-time discount for becoming a retail customer.
  7. Include links to other free reports like, "Benefits of Taking Calcium" or "Why You Should be Taking a Multi-Vitamin".
After you've developed your marketing plan and put it into action, you will need to track the results. If it is not performing as you thought it should have, then you will need to modify your plan and try again. You might have to do this a few times, but don't give up. You're just finding out what works best and of course, what attracts customers to you.

So the next time you're thinking of developing a marketing plan, do your homework, test and track. This way everyone will benefit.
